The Joy of a Child’s Delight

We’ve all played hide and seek as children, but Scup, Dirty Dave and The Director (Scup’s wife, the photographer!)  have invented a new game – “Seek and Disappear”.  Or perhaps we could say that it’s a game that Ohio children have invented and tried out with our team.  It seems that one of the unexpected discoveries along our tour through “Lowe’s Country” in Central Ohio this weekend was the wonderful children we met along the way.

Their enthusiasm in making stains go away is a much needed reminder that not all entertainment is digital. Let’s hear more about it as recalled by Scup:

  • In Steubenville, Ohio  yesterday we met two young girls who are sisters.  Their mother works at Lowe’s and brought the girls into the store on a visit, right to the paint desk right where we were doing demos.  Their mom was off- duty,  talking to her friend behind the paint counter.  Of course, we caught their attention by doing our demonstrations.  They where not shy and asked what we were doing, so we told them all about it.  All of a sudden the magic began!   They wanted to see the spray paint on the carpet, and then the magic marker on the hands, and much more.  They even started looking on their clothing because one of the young girls mentioned that she had a stain on her sneakers that she just couldn’t get off.  Well my wife, the photographer, “The Director” (because she has a real talent for seeing things),  proceeded to bend down with her Winning Colours and spray bottle with water.  She proceeded to remove the spot from the sneakers right before their eyes.  Well, the little girls where so excited that both of them started looking everywhere for spots and stains.  For them, it was like magic.  One of the sisters asked if Winning Colours would remove nail polish.  My wife said, “Yes, sure it can!”   The young girl had a little bit on one or two of her fingers and she didn’t like it at all.  So my wife asked her to put her hand on the table – and of course we all know the outcome.  The funny thing is that kids love Winning Colours!  I see it with my own friends’ children.  They are amazed by it’s “magic powers”.    Anyway, back to these two young girls -They were now on a mission.  They were allowed to go behind the paint desk to ask me if Winning Colours could remove the paint that had spilled on the floor in that Lowe’s store, apparently months or even years ago.  I said: “What if I start with the orange paint on the paint machine (because that’s a fun color).  They were all smiles and couldn’t wait for me to go behind the desk and perform another magic trick for them.  As you can see from the pictures, the orange paint came right off, again, ‘before their eyes’.  Unfortunately, by this time, their  mother told them that it was time to go – but they didn’t want to leave!  They asked their mother if they could stay because they wanted to see more ‘magic’.  I have found that Winning Colours makes kids happy.  Who doesn’t like to see young kids laughing and smiling?

Scup and friends playing a new game of "Seek and Disappear". It's about seeing how many messes of all kinds can be made to go away.

Happily for Scup, he keeps his new friends happy as they find new messes to make disappear.
